Instructors

Adult applicants must be in good health commensurate with their age group and be free from any ailment or condition that would prevent them from satisfactorily performing their primary duty of supervising youth. NOTE: Adults not physically qualified to perform all duties may still participate with a waiver from NHQ considering the parameters of their expected contribution to the NSCC program.

​To enlist with the United States Navy League Cadet Corps, you must be a boy or girl that is between the ages of 11 and 13, maintain a grade average in school of C (minimum requirement) and be free of any criminal/delinquent charges/behaviors.

 

You have to have a complete sports physical completed by a physician (school required physical is fine) and fill out a  medical evaluation/report to keep on file with your records.

 

You must have:

- no facial hair

- no jewelry/earrings

- a proper haircut to military standards

- be of good moral character.

 

Above all else, you must have the attitude that is worthy of the title of Sea Cadet:

 

- Honorable

- Trustworthy

- Truthful

- Willing to learn/take advice and guidance

- Willing to have fun!

​To enlist with the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, you must be a male or female that is between the ages of 14-17, able to maintain a grade average in school of C (minimum requirement) and be free of any criminal/delinquent charges/behavior.

 

The following requirements must be met:

 

- No facial hair

- Proper Military style haircut

- Willing to follow orders and accept responsibility for actions

- able to obtain a complete sports physical

- A medical examination similar to a high school sports physical is required for all cadet applicants to the Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC)

- Be of good moral character

- Desire to succeed in career/educational objectives

- Set forth a good example for others

- Represent our country's Navy with Honor, Courage and Committment

- Ability to attend 80% of drills/trainings

- Be a United States Citizen

 

The initial cost to enroll in the program is $200 for the first year and $100 each year thereafter. A payment plan may be available when needed. There are additional costs for gear and additional training. Shoes and boots are needed as they grow.  Most advanced training is around $200 for two weeks. As a non-profit agency, we accept donations and all costs associated with the program are tax deductible. Information needed to enroll includes the Cadets Social Security Number, Immunization Record, Birth Record/Proof of Citizenship and a current report card showing passing grades in school.

No one will be denied admission to the NSCC/NLCC due to a medical disability. Where a medical condition precludes full, unlimited participation, a Request for Accommodation (NSCADM 015) may be presented by the parent or guardian for review so the cadet may participate in NSCC activities to the maximum extent possible.
