WELCOME ABOARD SHIPMATE!
Sailor, you've taken a big step towards making a better future for yourself by becoming a part of this program. In the Sea Cadets you will be challenged to exceed expectations of your peers, friends and family. You will have your limits tested, knowledge enhanced and performance increased. We will teach you to be respectful, honorable and trustworthy as a Sailor is expected to be.
I personally thank you for taking the challenge set before you to become the best person you can be. Our country's Navy's motto is “A Global Force for Good”- which you are now officially a part of. Use this opportunity to become a better person, friend, brother/sister, son/daughter. Encourage each other, work as a team- relying on each other to achieve greatness in your lives.
I want you to know I respect your decision to become a part of this course. I will support you and encourage you as you proceed forward in the program. Today you are a new recruit- in the future, when you complete the program, I anticipate I will be able to call you with Pride and Honor, my Shipmate!
Listen to your instructors, learn the material provided for you. Teach someone something you know well and help others when you see someone in need. Take the skills you learn in the Sea Cadets and apply them to your life- it'll make you a better person and a good citizen of our country.
Should you need anything from our staff to assist you in your journey, do not hesitate to communicate with your instructors- they are there to help you achieve your goals. They are trained and professional, ready to assist you at every challenge you encounter.
In the US Navy, our Sailors have to do exactly what you are learning to do. Make them proud, show them you want to honor them by leading as an example, stay positive and look for solutions to problems and situations instead of focusing on problems. I know you will succeed in this program- I'm looking forward to meeting you and working with you to beomce a part of our Global Force for Good.

Respectfully,
